Introduction: It is known that progress in the health sector in Brazil was slow, and that it took a long time to support indigenous peoples in a fully inclusive way. As a result, indigenous people became a vulnerable group to some diseases, especially tuberculosis. Justification: It is essential to carry out studies on the incidence of these diseases in indigenous peoples, especially in regions where the indigenous population is large, as is the case in the city of Araguaína. Methods: This is a retrospective study, based on the collection of data from the medical records of patients diagnosed with tuberculosis, treated at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases – HDT-UFT in the period between January 2018 and December 2021. Results: The proportion of Tuberculosis in the indigenous population in this study, among all patients diagnosed with tuberculosis treated in the period, it was 5.6%, of which the majority of hospitalizations were from the Krahô ethnic group. Conclusion: It is possible to conclude that the data presented in this research indisputably present the conclusion that there is a high relationship between indigenous peoples and tuberculosis in Tocantins, when compared to the general population and the outcome of other similar studies.
