Avaliação dos Desafios Logísticos em uma Transportadora de Pequeno Porte no município de Araguaína - Tocantins

Abstract

Transportation logistics is fundamental to the economy; however, small transportation companies face daily challenges that limit their efficiency and profitability. This study aimed to analyze the main challenges in the logistics operations of a small transportation company in the municipality of Araguaína, Tocantins. The objective was to identify the impacts of these challenges on costs and time and to propose solutions that enable the optimization of operations. The methodology consisted of an applied, exploratory, and explanatory case study. An electronic questionnaire was administered to the company director, and the results were analyzed using SWOT analysis, to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and the GUT matrix, to prioritize problems. The results of the SWOT analysis indicated that the main weaknesses were the dependence on manual processes for cost control and the low adoption of technology. The GUT matrix revealed that management prioritizes external and uncontrollable threats, and only secondarily addresses internal weaknesses. It is concluded that there is a possible strategic misalignment in management, which focuses on external factors instead of optimizing controllable internal processes. Finally, some solutions are suggested focusing on reducing risks and optimizing internal and external logistics processes.
